After a shipwreck leaves the intelligent robot Roz alone on an uninhabited island, survival becomes an immediate challenge. Roz must adapt to the island's harsh environment and form bonds with its animals, while also taking responsibility for an orphaned baby goose. Her effort to protect and care for the young bird places her unfamiliar artificial nature within the demands of the island's living world.
