At 74, Malika lives alone in a small white house beside Algeria’s Trans-Saharan road, keeping company with a dog and a cat while serving passing clients. When director Hassen Ferhani arrives to scout with journalist Chawki Amari, she opens her door to their film project. The encounter brings forward the mystery of a woman who may have left northern Algeria for the desert, where she remains surrounded by immense, hostile space.
