Nearly three decades after the Rage virus outbreak, a heavily defended island community remains linked to the mainland by one causeway. A member of the group crosses into the mainland’s darkness, where the journey reveals secrets, wonders, and horrors. The outbreak’s effects have changed more than the infected: other survivors have mutated as well. As he moves through this altered territory, the traveler encounters what the mainland now contains and the changes affecting those who remain connected to the island.
