Kawai Joji is an aspiring screenwriter who has won a screenplay competition but has not yet made his professional debut. When his instructor asks him to write a film based on Tanizaki Junichiro’s A Fool’s Love, Joji is determined to succeed, yet struggles with the script. Meanwhile, he meets Naomi, a beautiful woman working at a rundown bar while pursuing acting, and their relationship quickly grows closer as Joji tries to finish the screenplay.
