After transferring to a college in the same town, wealthy Prema takes an interest in Mahesh, a reserved student devoted to his education and track running. When he politely ignores her, her anger leads her to seek his friendship. Mahesh soon falls in love and makes Prema the center of his life, while she encourages his feelings as part of an attempt to get revenge.
