After a sewerage worker is found dead inside a manhole in Mumbai, an ageing folk singer is brought before the court on charges of abetment of suicide. The case centers on an inflammatory song he performed and the allegation that it bears on the worker’s death. As proceedings continue, the lawyers and judge handling the trial are also seen outside the courtroom, where their personal lives unfold alongside the legal dispute.
