Max Borlund, a veteran bounty hunter, ventures into Mexico in 1897 on a mission to locate Rachel Kidd, the wife of a wealthy businessman said to have been taken by Buffalo Soldier Elijah Jones. His path crosses Joe Cribbens, an outlaw gambler and former enemy Max himself once sent to prison. Old grudges and a fresh pursuit collide as Max pushes deeper into hostile territory, and the trail ends with a confrontation aimed at saving his honor.
