Kathryn, a New Yorker with ALS, is completely paralyzed and depends on 24-hour care. She communicates by pointing to letters with her eyes on a special keyboard, describing her situation incisively and pragmatically. Kathryn has not asked to be taken off life support because she is not ready to say goodbye to her children and hopes to experience her daughter Minou’s wedding.
