In the summer of 1963, François Mitterrand faces an existential crisis as his political career stalls and his long marriage has grown distant. He then meets 19-year-old Anne Pingeot, who becomes his lifelong companion through his rise to power and remains with him until his death. Their passionate relationship is presented through letters and a diary made available for television before donation to the National Library.
