Ayyappan Nair, an elephant caretaker, takes a bank loan to obtain an elephant for his family. When a circus crew provides one instead, he brings it home and discovers it is a Hindi elephant. Ayyappan learns Hindi from Jayachandran, while Jayachandran and Ayyappan’s daughter Karthika fall in love.
