In 1970s New York, an ambitious chorus boy loses his future as a dancer after an injury and rejects the art films screening in Times Square. He turns instead to friends and lovers, forming a team to produce hardcore movies of their own. Their work finds unexpected success, but drugs, AIDS, and the arrival of inexpensive video technology eventually threaten the enterprise.
