During Algeria’s war for independence, impoverished young Algerian volunteers Salah and Kaddour serve in the French Army under Lieutenant Pascal. As the conflict nears its end and independence approaches, the future of the Harkis becomes uncertain. Pascal challenges his superiors, demanding that every man in his platoon be evacuated to France while the war’s outcome closes around them.
