During the 1971 Battle of Basantar, Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal fights for his battalion and country, giving his life in the conflict and becoming India’s youngest Param Vir Chakra recipient. Thirty years later, his father travels to Sargodha and to Arun’s alma mater for a reunion, returning to places that are now in post-partition Pakistan. As the father revisits this ancestral and educational past, the story considers the futility of the war that took his son.
