Twelve-year-old Syrian refugee Lamya escapes the violence in her country carrying a poetry book by Rumi. Its pages open a shared dreamworld where she encounters Rumi as a refugee child, and together they face monsters drawn from the dangers surrounding them. Lamya must guide the young poet toward the work that, centuries later, may preserve her life as her own perilous journey continues.
