Satyam, a driver raised at Seva Ashram, lives with his wife Sarada, a music teacher, and their four children. Though kind-hearted, Satyam struggles with liquor, and conflict erupts when toddy milk vendor Apparao makes advances toward Sarada. After Apparao kills Satyam in retaliation for an assault, Sarada, diagnosed with cancer, seeks a family upbringing for the children, who are eventually adopted by different families.
