Maya elopes with Balakrishnan, only to abandon him the following day. Balakrishnan responds by pretending they have a happy marriage and hiring a girl named Mayamohini to maintain that appearance. The arrangement takes an unexpected turn when Mayamohini is revealed to be a man hunted by the police. Balakrishnan must contend with the consequences of the deception while the police search for Mayamohini.
