In 1960s Lyon, twelve-year-old Emile believes his father is a heroic judo champion, parachutist, soccer player, and adviser to General de Gaulle. Proud of him, Emile follows orders to tail people, spy, and deliver secret letters in support of French Algeria. He brings classmate Luca into these missions, even as his father's claims and the danger surrounding the children come into question.
