In a seaside resort during winter, Carole and Richard Lazure live as refugees after a tax advisor swindles them and an incompetent lawyer fails to defend them. Having lost their business, home, and ability to afford essentials, they see Richard’s talkative childhood friend as a possible change in their circumstances, though his questionable dating may worsen their situation.
