In ancient India, four princes are born to three queens in Ayodhya, the royal palace of the Kosala Kingdom, and each grows to great stature. Court intrigue then banishes Prince Rama for fourteen years, sending him into the forest with his wife, Sita. After Rama defeats the forest demons, the demon king Ravana kidnaps Sita, drawing Rama into a struggle against him.
