In 1697, an exorcism performed on the young Rapunzel Gothel fails, and although the girl is killed, her demon remains in Father Petrosinus's castle. Centuries later, one of the priest's relatives enters the building as Alina Grimm and her friends arrive to film their student horror movie. Unaware that their test shots will summon the demon again, they move through the castle while it seeks revenge against the priest's bloodline.
