Charlie Kenton once fought in the ring, but left that career after robots took over the sport. When his own robot is trashed, he returns to robot fighting alongside his estranged son. Together, they rebuild the damaged machine and train an unlikely contender, forcing the washed-up fighter to work with the boy as they make the robot ready.
