Living in Green Hills, Sonic wants to demonstrate that he can become a true hero. That opportunity arrives when Dr. Robotnik comes back alongside Knuckles, pursuing an emerald capable of destroying civilizations. Sonic joins forces with Tails, his sidekick, and the pair set out across the globe to locate the powerful object first. Their search becomes a race against Robotnik and Knuckles, as the emerald remains at risk of reaching the wrong hands.
