A Karnataka chief minister, Rajashekar, is framed, prompting his secretary to enlist Krishna, a kindhearted man who resembles Dhanush, the violent heir. Krishna assumes Dhanush’s identity, but the arrangement becomes unstable when the real heir returns. The two men are pulled into a contest for political power and Rukmini’s love, while Krishna tries to protect Rukmini and establish himself as a leader trusted by the people.
