Sister Agnès leaves her convent in Brittany and takes refuge in Paris with Mona Lisa, a prostitute. Lacking any qualifications, the young novice struggles to find work. Mona Lisa attempts to teach her the ropes of the profession she knows, but Agnès must first adapt to a life far removed from the convent as she searches for a way to earn a living.
