Moosa Meleri reaches a Kerala village with his adopted son Abu and Abu’s wife, Amina, after losing his money through litigation. Their modest happiness collapses when a wealthy landlord wants Amina and compels her to divorce Abu so she can become his second wife. Two decades later, Amina lives alone, Moosa remains absorbed in lawsuits, their son has fallen into a dissolute life, and their daughter has run away with the chauffeur.
