At her new high school, Polina is saved from bullying and strikes a bargain with Bars, the main bully. He will pose as her boyfriend and protect her, while she agrees to do everything he says. What begins as an arrangement becomes more complicated when the pair develops genuine feelings. Polina and Bars then face pressure from her family and their classmates, who have reasons to keep the two young people apart.
