In the 1970s Southwest, Navajo police officers Leaphorn and Chee investigate a grisly double murder, following a trail of clues that draws them into a difficult case. As their search progresses, both men are forced to challenge their spiritual beliefs and confront the trauma of their pasts. Their investigation places professional demands alongside deeply personal reckonings, leaving Leaphorn and Chee to pursue the truth while facing what the case brings to the surface.
