Twelve-year-old Cuban-American Elena chronicles her middle-school ups and downs through the pages of her diary, which also captures the first steps of a much larger path. Between everyday school pressures and her own emerging ambitions, she finds herself balancing the challenges of growing up while gradually moving toward a future that could see her become the President of the United States.
