After construction-holding owner Alexey Gradov dies, his heirs fight for control of his billion-dollar fortune against his former official and business partner. Gradov Sr., the retired patriarch who built the family company, leads the family struggle with Nadezhda, its financier and strategist and his son’s former mistress. As wives, children, and grandchildren pursue the inheritance, old grievances and claims threaten to divide the Gradovs as fiercely as their external opponent.
