Beginning in 1977, the series follows a young Pietro Savastano growing up as an adoptive brother in poverty-stricken Naples, where cigarette smuggling shapes his surroundings. Scraping by as a street kid, Pietro dreams of well-being, experiences a passionate first love, and gradually loses his innocence alongside his brothers and lifelong friends. His meeting with Angelo, the regent of Secondigliano, draws him into crime, where violence, alliances, and betrayals reveal the price of life.
