At Hyakkaou, a corrupt and sadistic school council runs the school through gambling. Students who cannot pay their debts are humiliated and made to serve those they owe, while some games threaten eyes, fingernails, or lives. Transfer student Yumeko Jabami disrupts this order as a mysterious player drawn to gambling for its own thrill.
