Within the Kuru clan, two collateral branches contend for control of Hastinapur, the kingdom under Kuru rule. The Kauravas and Pandavas stand on opposing sides of the struggle for its throne, drawing the dynasty into a conflict between them. As the rivalry develops, the dispute leads to the Kurukshetra War. The series follows the divided family as the kingdom’s rule hangs between these competing branches.
