Kunato Hyoma, consumed by rage toward tsukumogami, is sent to live with Nagatsuki Botan, whose experiences with the spirits are very different from his own. Both belong to a clan that uses divine powers to return these otherworldly vessels to their world: Kunato was robbed of a loved one, while Botan was saved by them. Their opposing experiences shape the task before them.
