Meryem, married into an Islamic sect at fourteen, struggles to keep her daughter Zeynep from facing the same fate. With guidance from her former-sect-member sister-in-law, she hides plans to flee from her cruel husband while earning money as a carer for secular psychiatrist Levent, who agrees to help. Their conflicting beliefs give way to emotional closeness as turmoil grows and the identity of Levent’s daughter is revealed.
