In an Eastern-styled fantasy setting, sacred guardians defend the Tian Xing Jiàn sword from the Xuan Gui Zong, servants of Miè Tian Hai. After Hai defeats the guardian brother, his sister Dan Fei escapes by leaping from a cliff. A wandering swordsman then takes an umbrella from a Buddha statue and must show compassion to the next traveler he meets—Dan Fei, who is still being pursued and draws him into her plight.
