Jiro Azuma is a high schooler descended from ninjas and trained in the ancient warrior discipline of shinobi. His ability to speak with animals leads him to an injured cat named Rago, who is revealed as the legendary Black Star of Doom. Working with the Bureau of Espionage, Jiro and Rago face swarms of mononoke lying in wait to exploit the feline’s powers, forcing the unlikely pair into an ongoing fight against creatures gathering around Rago.
