In 1993, Ted the bear is living with his best friend, 16-year-old John Bennett, after Ted’s fame has faded. John shares a working-class Boston home with his parents and cousin, while Ted’s presence may not always be a positive influence. Still, when John or his family needs help, Ted is prepared to take risks for them, leaving the household to live with both his questionable example and his loyalty.
