After transferring to a new high school, Alya quickly becomes popular while maintaining a cold shoulder and earning high marks in class. Her nerdy classmate, Kuze Masachika, usually receives little attention from her, but she sometimes blurts out a flirtatious remark in Russian. Alya does not know that Kuze understands the language, because he pretends otherwise. This unusual situation places the two students within a wacky love story shaped by what Alya says and what Kuze secretly understands.
