In New York, Adults centers on a group of twenty-somethings trying to be good people. Their effort is complicated by the fact that they are neither good nor fully people yet, placing the ensemble between the standards they are attempting to meet and their unfinished state. The series follows these young adults as they face that contradiction together, with their shared situation defined by the challenge of becoming something they have not yet managed to be.
