Sid longs to become a shadowbroker: an apparently unremarkable person who secretly controls events from behind the scenes. He trains every night for the day he can rise to power, but a deadly traffic accident ends his ordinary life. Waking in another world, Sid finds himself leading a real secret organization that battles evil in the shadows, giving him the opportunity to pursue the role he has always imagined.
